News I was telling you a couple of weeks ago that I will have an interview with Canadian radio named Banana Peel. Eurosong = Eurocircus Ever heard of Eurosong music contest? This is the biggest pop music event in Europe since 1956 and being followed by audience of few hundreds of millions. It took place last week ending Saturday. There were over 40 countries competing who wrote better song. LOL! I can't help myself from laughing, sorry. That should be (it actually was in the past) the SONG contest. It should be (was) something about music. You know: instruments, singing, ... It is a spectacle now. It's not about music, it's about glamour, show and performance. Music is just some background. Hear this: Ireland sent on stage a guy who was emulating turkey with his hand (a bird, not country. Turkey (country) had an excellent song), Bosnians were drying clothes while four brides were singing backing vocals, Azerbaijan got few guys dressed like pigeons (still better than turkey) and Latvia with pirates singing "We are wolves of the sea". I am serious. It did happen. Check out the official page: www.eurovision.tv Another characteristic is that singing is live. Instruments are pre-recorded, but singing is live. The funny thing is that the most glamorous performers were also worst singers. Very detuned. Rock bands on the other side were great. Thanks god there were some countries that sent REAL musicians like Croatia, Israel, UK, Turkey and few more. Russia won. It wasn't my favorite song, but it was pretty OK. At least it was about a SONG, with no clowns or jugglers. I am sorry for all the great artists that were thrown in the same bin as some jesters. Anyway. I am curious on how low are we able to go in the 2009 edition. 3. Initiation This is the opening track on the Appletree of Discord album, right after the intro (Pre-Initiation). I've found some great Korg's VSTs, perfect for rave, and I am glad how well that combined into the song which has pretty vintage guitar structure. The song is about religious frauds about the end of the world and selling you ways to salvation. Yeah. Nothing's for free. Especially not salvation. Jehovah's Witnesses are perfect example, but far from being the only one. I was really fascinated by the Ong's Hat aka Incunabula. That was one of the earliest internet-based secret history/conspiracy theory works created as a piece of collaborative fiction by four core individuals, although the membership changed over time. The aim was to create a false document, passing it off as a real account, for unspecified aims. It may have started as an in-joke or the first alternate reality game or as an attempt to see how far the meme could spread. The urban legend states that a facility manned by renegade Princeton professors conducted quantum physics experiments, and according to conspiracy theories, discovered a new theory for dimensional travel aka The Egg. See? When you get enough of this world you can travel in another dimension with help of meditation and technology - a Nobel prize for optimism. Well, stay safe. Talk to you in June.
